Ytterbium:YAG (Yb:YAG) Laser Rods
Ytterbium:YAG (Yb:YAG) lases at 1030nm. With pumping wavelengths at 940 and 970nm Yb:YAG is very well suited to diode-pumping (e.g InGaAs). Compared with Nd:YAG, Yb:YAG has a much larger absorption bandwidth which leads to reduced thermal management issues.
