Advatech CLYC(Ce) Scintillation Crystals
CLYC(Ce) is a new scintillator will good gamma-neutron detection properties and hence has considerable potential in dual-mode detection configurations. It has an emission peak at 370nm.

CLYC(Ce) scintillator crystals are:
  • Good absorbers with good stopping powers - density 3.31 g/cm³ and an Effective Z of 54
  • Fast with a decay time of 1ns
  • Emit with a 370nm peak
  • Robust with good mechanically characteristics

CLYC(Ce) scintillator crystals have the following issues which should be noted. They are:
  • Hygroscopic and need encapsulation

CLYC(Ce) scintillator crystals are useful in diverse applications such as:
  • Security
  • Specialist applications in high energy, nuclear, space and medical physics
